on this website. I discovered it when I was checking out the videos you posted on you tube. I am a man with Asperger's and if I read this site more I will be able to understand myself better. Thank you so much again. Keep up the good work!
Sincerely, Chris

I am a sp ed teacher in an autism program. I'd like to put on an inservice for the staff where there are stations for them to do activities that simulate what it is like to have autism. For example, wearing a helmet with beads hanging down in front of their eyes as distraction while they work, or wearing gloves while they do fine motor tasks, etc. Does anyone know where I can get these activities/equipment? Some I could just make.

I have seen both Silent Fall and Rain Man. RM was the first mainstream movie to ever deal with the subject of Autism. SF is also a great, but severely underrated. I havent seen House of Cards, bt from the clips I saw it does look good.

Just reviewing some of the things that were posted here...with our County Fair coming up, we may just have to find a way to implement some of these tools into the EMS med kit. Thanks for taking the time to research what the emergency medicine field needs to, but can't find time too.

ever since my child has had in home services in addition to going to school (starting all at once) that by the end of the week he's not eating like he does on a Monday. from what I've have read proteins do not digest correctly in a person that is diagnosed with Autism. so the portents embed them self in the digestive track causing physical pain (that's is a theory on why Autistic people rock back and forth hit the head on walls etc. its how the mellow out the pain) so at the end of the week with all the sensory he gets i believe (if that information is true and i understand it right) that he is feeling things more physically than before and is feeling that pain from his proteins embedding and eats less. I have just requested an OT test though his school and have asked for it to be on a Monday so that the assessment is acurate

thanx for this site, I am undiagnosed but it looks like to me I am aspergic, all the reading and self tests point in that direction, I am 59 in November, so have missed all the government and education attention, mostly avoided, laughed at, discounted, by family, cohorts, hard to make good friends. had a cerebellar stroke 2 years ago , had a wonderful physical therapist who taught me to walk again, I really liked the modified maneuver that rolled the calcium rocks back into the proper place in the ear canals. must have been vestibular therapy huh. wonder if it had anything to do with the brain differences of autism or aspergers? Wow that was very interesting. That has to be tough not to screen anything out. I can see how hard it must be for my son. Does it become easier as you grow older to deal with? Quiet places must be better for everyone on the spectrum. Its hard to have a quiet place when everywhere I take my little one except home has so much going on, like shopping and even school must be hard sometimes.

Dear Kris, I am sorry you had to go through all of that to get the help you needed. I really hope you have found the right doctors. The others should be ashamed of themselves. I didnt think it was a long story and no need ever to apologise for explaining how you feel. I will pray for you and hope God is working on you right now and let you be healthy and enjoy life. All my prayers and get well wishes to you!- Love, Julie
